Szymon Nowak was born in Rzeszow in 1984. He studied new media at the Faculty of Arts at the Technical University in Košice (2005) and inter-media at the Academy of Fine Arts (ASP) in Cracow in Poland (2008). Since the year 2014 he has worked at the Faculty of Graphics (WG) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. From2016 he is a member of the Inter-media Arts Development Foundation. He is also a member of the artistic group the Flaming Lips Of Love. He cooperates, among others, with the Museum of the History of Photography (MHF) in Crakow, and with "Podkarpacka Zachęta". He presented his works in many exhibitions in Poland and abroad.  He lives and works in Cracow, Poland.




Szymon Nowak is an interdisciplinary artist. In his work, he uses various media such as photography, video-installation, an interactive installation and sound installation. In his photographic work he focuses on the issues related to the broader concept of human identity, e.g. Lost, 5 Minutes, Ethernal, Butoh.  In recent years, he often exceeds the visual media, e.g. Ruach, Behave, Duo. In these works, he is mainly focused on exploring the limits of human perception.
